Fish Tales - 2015
Sitting in a boat watching the sun come up – will we catch anything this morning? Maybe after dinner will be better. This series explores the hours spent in a fishing boat with parents, with grown kids, with grandkids on Minnesota lakes taking in the quiet of the water. Conversations mingle with silence while we await the excitement of a catch. In these sculptures I have tried to set up a story to be continued. What led up to this particular scene and how will it be completed? Within each piece the fascination of sculpturally depicting water is prominent. Color, texture, and surface textures were compelling reasons to explore each one.
